Meals on 2 Wheels

This ride is a bicycle version of Meals on Wheels. We deliver both hot and cold meals to clients of Elder Care Services.  Meet at Panera Bread on Ocala Street at 10 am on Mondays and Thursdays. We're easy to spot, just look for the bikes with trailers attached. Alternatively, you can just show up at St. Marks main trail head at 9 am and ride to Panera. Or meet the group at Elder Care Services at 10:15 am.

The group usually visits for a few minutes at Panera, letting people finish coffee and possibly breakfast. We then go to Elder Care on West Tenn. St. to pick up the meals. On Monday the crew splits up for 3 routes. Thursday has only one route. After the deliveries we meet up at Square Mug in RailRoad Square. Everyone is welcome to join us either Monday or Thursday. No trailer is required.

The ride leader, Roger Holdener, will ensure there is sufficient transport capability for the hot meals, so new riders do not need to worry about carrying a load. These rides are very pleasant rides in traffic-safe neighborhoods. The few blocks on Tennessee St are safe, especially with plenty of riders and some trailers in the group, we have seen that cars are very respectful of us (especially because we have big Meals on 2 Wheels signs on the trailers).

Non-members must pre-register (including a signed waiver of liability) to participate. Pre-registration is recommended for members. Pre-registering allows the ride leader to quickly locate your emergency contact information if needed. Also, members are covered under the club's liability insurance policy and excess accident medical expense insurance policy. In the event of a claim, pre-registration will facilitate the claims process and provide evidence that you were a ride participant. Please note that the club’s insurance policies do not cover non-members.
